Kentucky Derby Museum
A monument to the splendor and pageantry of the Derby, the museum inhabits a new 37,000 square foot building, with 15,000 square feet devoted to exhibits.
Exhibits are situated on two levels, visually connected by a large center atrium, "the Great Hall." The first floor is devoted to the Derby story. On the second floor, the exhibits reveal the world of thoroughbred racing. Every hour, the Great Hall is transformed into a theater for a 96-projector surround presentation, projected on the oval fascia between the first and second floors.
