Colorful ship sails welcome visitors into A Powerful Force multimedia presentation and the Introductory Gallery.
The Shipwreck Simulator allows visitors to explore the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Interactives include digital and analog technology, along with lights, sound, and projection. 
Stoke the Boiler allows young visitors to fire a ship’s boiler with nerf coal.
Each Thematic Gallery is introduced with interactive maps.
Artifacts larges and small, from boats to uniforms, tell the stories of the people and industry of the Great Lakes. 
The museum exterior features several exhibits and interpretative panels, including this large ship!
While exploring the grounds, visitors can tour a vessel that once sailed the Great Lakes, the museum ship S.S. Col. James M. Schoonmaker.
